Dreaming about service software

We’re all amassed and amazed at technology as we know it…virtually wired, virtually here or there, virtually wireless, virtually…mobile! When was the last time you used Pay Pal, the ATM, the kiosk, online finance e.g. banking or human resources services visited/used – CV/CV submission?

What about the “digital divide”, the “digital age dilemma” – where too many citizens deny access to the world of digitization? Has a robot taken over your job? Has a computer application made you obsolete? Data mining, is it alive and well? Is/was it a dream to wake up and go to work and receive a pink, blue, brown, and/or purple breakup notice dated yesterday and effective now?

It must be a fucking dream! yes i dream I wonder… do robots dream?

It all started with Ethernet, WAN, LAN and Virtuality – Private Networks… Bell Telephone prospered in putting up towers and telephone lines, as did the cable companies. What about their underground cables and phone networks? Could we survive without them?

Software as a Service – The digital age … the workforce, will it be Saas?

The 411, did you know that SaaS, a software delivery method that allows access to software and its functions remotely as a web-based/cloud service, does a variety of things? SaaS gives organizations access to business functionality at a price that is typically less than paying for licensed applications, as SaaS pricing is based on a monthly fee. Because the software is remote, users do not need to invest in additional hardware. SaaS eliminates the need for businesses to take care of installation, setup, and day-to-day maintenance and servicing…defined as hosted applications.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is an enterprise management system that integrates all facets of the business environment, including planning, manufacturing, sales, and marketing. As the ERP methodology has grown in popularity, software applications have emerged to help business leaders implement ERP in business activities such as inventory control, order tracking, customer service, finance, and human resources.

SaaS strategy:

“Of all cloud computing ideas out there, SaaS is the one that deserves attention now!” “Many companies treat it ad hock!” As rated and approved, a statement by Michael Bidding, CTO of Fusion PPT, Consulting and IT Services.

Vendor marketing, new services and cloud strategies have embroiled technology leaders in a cloud computing tide. Business technologists, now using SaaS, described their apps as critical to the missions. Ad hoc is not Saas. Ad-hoc is an autonomous system of routes (and associated hosts) connected by wireless links. Ad hoc network systems (ANS) are complex systems with cross-layer protocol dynamics and interactions that are not present in wired systems. Such a network can work standalone or be connected to the larger (system) internet and work as a hybrid fixed/ad hoc network. A survey of several companies and their CIOs could benefit most from SaaS by integrating it into the overall enterprise architecture or making SaaS a part of it.

Cloud Computing – the sharing of computing resources instead of local services or personal devices to handle applications. Its goal is to apply traditional supercomputing, or high-performance computing power, typically used by military and research institutions. Cloud computing networks are also larger clusters of servers with specialized connection speeds.

Data processing tasks:

The shared IT infrastructure(s) contain(s) large pools of systems that are interconnected so that data centers can operate like the Internet while computing resources are consumed, accessed and used as virtual resources in a secure and scalable methodology be shared.

Although SaaS is not described as universal, the users surveyed agreed that it has transcended customer resources, human resources, email, sales force automation, service/helpdesk, finance (online banking). , and backup applications. All of these apps are used and more… Business Server Apps have used SaaS for almost 100% of their services. Billing, inventory, timesheets, sales, email, and pipeline management are shared in these software-as-a-service application(s). Businesses enjoy quick setup and reduced capital expenditures. Another benefit is the increased power and mobility of employees through remote offices via a smartphone or home computer (PC). “Mobile access is the name of the game,” says Michael Bidding. Cloud computing overshadows Simple Software As A Service (SSAS) training. SaaS providers say that portability, privacy and security are the main points of concern for companies.

SaaS users say that the IT organization is the main driver and C-level managers or the industry are behind the use of SaaS. SaaS strategy development teams are encouraged to engage in selecting the right vendor, signing the right contract, detailed exit strategy, managing a good working relationship, creating a contingency plan, deep study of interoperability and system integration in/on IT’s role in support and involvement, as well as alignment with the goals and objectives of the business.

SaaS customers agree and are generally happy with the apps. They say they are doing better with SaaS than traditional applications and will continue to invest in SaaS. When companies integrate (and/or plan to) SaaS applications with other business applications, it demonstrates a commitment to the product as part of an overall business architecture. Mixing in-house built custom apps, packaged, on-premises combined with customer configurations, SaaS apps and other tools makes it harder for organizations to understand the risks associated with app changes. The IT organization is ultimately responsible for the smooth operation and operation of the federated architecture.

The future promises to do more with organizations monitoring their own SaaS performance(s). In most cases, IT staff is unable to determine on-site whether the service is operational or if a user is experiencing an issue caused by a LAN-to-Internet outage. Performance issues are called to the IT Help/Service Desk.

SaaS pricing is less transparent and the provider controls dependency on performance data. IT teams must maintain tight bandwidth between the user and the server. Bandwidth is a range within a band of frequencies or wavelengths. The amount of data that can be transferred in a specified period of time;

Digital bandwidth is expressed in bits per second (bps) of bytes per second. Another term, as described in Analog, is cycles per second or Hertz (Hz). Bandwidth is the measure of space and speed, meaning a fast drive can be hampered or slowed down by a low-bandwidth bus or space (space). I/O devices are particularly affected by low bandwidth ie Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) throughput requirements of 3D graphics.

An application is one of a group of programs designed for end users. Two general classifications of software are system software and application software. System software consists of low-level programming that interacts at a basic level, including operating system compilers and utilities for managing computer resources. Application software resides on top of the system software because it cannot run without the operating system and system utilities (interface is the interaction between the computer and the user).

Customer Resource Management (CRM) tops the list(s) of SaaS usage. Growing from the tedious task of hand-to-eye sorting for more than a decade, Human Resources (HR) applicant tracking is poised for further growth as SaaS has proven to be an invaluable tool in its human resource efforts, ie , application(s), tests, achievements and other personnel files tasks and core functions.

Business Intelligence (BI), Application Program Interface(s) (API) – Windows, Excel, Access, SQL, etc. – Routine sets, protocols and relevant tools to create software applications – API makes everything easier by providing all the building blocks, a computer program to develop. Programmers put together all the building blocks, that is, a program interface designed for end users.

SaaS offerings are limited compared to most conventional providers that are offered on a variety of platforms on-premises or in the cloud. “Microsoft is winning customers for its SaaS-based Exchange,” says Mr. Bidding. “SaaS is growing.”

Members of IT organizations need to learn new skills and develop new strategies that enable them to integrate legacy infrastructure with rapidly growing SaaS portfolios.

So the next time you use the convenience of kiosks, ATMs, Pay-Pal(s), the Internet or smart phone web navigation, remember the software dream and its relation(s) to your lifestyle and/or livelihood.

Have you ever wondered if robots have dreams?

Until next time…
